Sam Gross

This funny gag comes to us from funny gagman, Sam Gross. Featuring a rather un-PC joke, Sam created this original inked art for a greeting card that itself was spun off from a drawing he had done that appeared in National Lampoon. It is drawn on 6x8” paper, and is signed by S. Gross.

Sam Gross is one of America’s great single panel gag cartoonists. With a career that began in 1962, Sam has entertained the readers of Cosmopolitan, Esquire, Good Housekeeping, and The New Yorker - just a few of a long list of magazines that have published his work. Perhaps Sam’s best known cartoon was one he drew for a 1970 issue of National Lampoon that depicted a couple in a restaurant that was offering frogs’ legs, and a poor little legless frog comes rolling out of the kitchen in a wheeled box.
