The brothers are both Disney veterans having worked on many films either together or separately. Tony was the supervising animator of Kronk from The Emperor’s New Groove that he drew here, and Tom drew Mushu from Mulan, the character on which he served as the supervising animator. They started together at Disney as trainees, and both rocketed to successful careers in the business. Besides Simba, Tom Bancroft animated Pocahontas, Iago in Aladdin, Tuke in Brother Bear, and was the supervising animator of Mushu in Mulan! Tony Bancroft animated Cogsworth in Beauty and the Beast, also Iago, supervising animator of Kronk from The Emperor’s New Groove, supervised the animation for Stuart Little 2, he directed Mulan, and directed Animal Crackers - a new independent animated film coming to theaters in 2017! Together, The Bancroft Brothers do lectures around the country, and they host their popular Bancroft Brothers Animation Podcast where they interview other luminaries in the animation business!
